hey everyone. its been awhile since i posted anything. i was in chicago watching the decemberists, going to wrigley and getting retarded drunk.

i have some photos to post later today. i got a polaroid while in chicago and took some cool pics.

there has been a lot going on in the life of al. first and foremost, i am opening a record store. it will be called eargasm records. so i am proposing a little contest of sorts. i am looking for a logo design. the winner will get an amazing prize package complete with a couple collages, a painting, some buttons and stickers and stuff... email me your ideas to eargasmrecords@hotmail.com and i will post the winner and do a journal feature on the winning artist. this is open to everyone and there are no restrictions...

second of all... i am working on a collaboration with a chicago graffiti artist called bonus. his stuff is amazing. i will post whatever we come up with... i am sure it will be cool. he is mad talented... check out his stuff at [link]

ok... enough about me. lets talk about some really great artists here on dA.

first, i am really happy to have found her collages are simple but incredible. i feel tempted to favourite every one of her deviations. they are all perfect.

i am also a huge fan of he is brilliant. his art usually makes a social observation and i adore it.

and finally, you really should check out my friend tammy's work is just amazing and i feel lucky to have seen it in real life. i get to work with her on stuff all the time and we really seem to inspire each other... or well... she inspires me. i can't speak for her...

i was also just tagged by instead of doing an entirely new journal, i decided to just edit this one... so without further ado, here are 6 things you may not have known about me...

1. i am totally accident prone. i am always hurting myself

2. i have two middle names. thomas (my dad's middle name) and raymond (my grandpa on my mom's side) allan thomas raymond bjornaa

3. i have a disgustingly huge vinyl collection. my 5 faves (which change with some regularity) are revolver- the beatles, goo- sonic youth, slanted and enchanted- pavement, axis of evol- the pink mountaintops and august- elevator through.

4. i was a fisherman before becoming a full time artist.

5. i have very limited motion in my right foot and half of it is numb all the time (nasty lawnmower incident...see #1.)

6. i am a green bay packers fan.

as a few of you know, i have been tryng to plan a group show for thursday was our first meeting and i think it went very well. 8 people attended and about another 8 couldn't make it because of other commitments.

friday i talked to the owner of whitespace and booked the gallery. the tentative opening date is friday, july 20th. i am excited and matt at whitespace is excited. this should be a very fun show.

if you didn't attend the meeting or have yet to comfirm your spot in the show, you have until wednesday. if i do not get a note or email with your name and email address by then, you will not be able to participate. i will be posting something about this on as well.

thanks to everyone who attended the meeting or has already confirmed their participation with me. and to those who haven't, what the hell are you waiting for?

the date of the next meeting will be decided once i finalize the list of people involved.

this has been a busy week for me. i set dates for two solo shows and i am in the planning stage of setting up a group show of fellow deviants in my area. its going to be a crazy few months but i would have it no other way...

first up is a solo show at WHITESPACE here in sault ste. marie, ontario. the show opens on june 22nd and will run for 4 weeks. thanks again to matt ceolin for the space to show my work. i am also in the planning stages of a few other projects. i want to organize a deviant art show featuring local deviants. and another thing i have in the works is setting up an artists market in the downtown section of out lovely town. there are a lot of talented artists who have nowhere to sell their wares. i am going to try to fix that... stay tuned.
